I think that blaming Abbas for continued activity of Palistiian millitants is bullshit. The U.S. is in control of Iraq. Does that mean that the U.S. is responsible for attacks by Iraqi insurgents?
Before Abbas will have enough clout among the Palistinians to shut down Hammas, he will have to show those people he can be effective in negotiating with Israel. If Sharon continues the "eye for eye" retaliation, the peace process is doomed. Make no mistake about whose fault that will be.
